Our talented chefs and wedding co-ordinators share some of their winter wedding food ideas.
Thaw Your Guests Out!
On your wedding day there is a good chance that you’d like your wedding guests to spend a few moments outside after the ceremony, posing for photographs and waiting to throw confetti. They’re much more likely to enter into the spirit of this when armed with a warming glass of Mulled Wine or Winter Pimms. Nothing is more welcome on a crisp, cold day, than a steaming glass of something hot and alcoholic to thaw you out.
One of our top winter wedding food ideas is to serve guests a hot starter once they’re seated for the wedding breakfast. We offer a fantastically large range of amazing soups, everything from classic French Onion to a sublimely creamy, Leek & Potato finished off with crisped Pancetta.
Fabulous alternatives to soup include a miniature bowl of Stew with Dumplings or a fiery Chorizo and Chilli Pepper Gnocchi, both sublime and sure to warm the cockles.
If you’re getting married in December why not treat guests to a traditional Turkey Roast Dinner, it may be clichéd but everyone loves it! Slices of moist locally sourced turkey served with cranberry sauce, bread sauce, chipolata sausages wrapped in sweet smoky bacon, lashings of roast potatoes, steamed vegetables (sprouts optional!)…. Heaven!
We’re definitely not short of sensational winter wedding food ideas for pudding. Some of our favourites include Apple Pie and Custard, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Gooey Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake and of course Christmas Pudding!
