If you’re having a church wedding and then moving to your chosen venue after the ceremony and some photographs at the church, then you may want to consider offering canapés upon arrival at the venue. This is primarily because most church wedding ceremonies are significantly longer than civil ceremonies and tend to take place earlier in the day. This often means that your guests are pretty ravenous as they arrive at the wedding reception venue and grateful for a delightful little bite to keep them going.
By contrast if you’ve booked a late civil ceremony at your chosen wedding venue, then most of your guests will have time to enjoy a light lunch before the ceremony and should be happy enough to enjoy the drinks without canapés.

You may opt to serve canapés during your drinks reception simply because you’d like to; guests will always welcome trays of perfectly formed wedding canapés circulating during your drinks reception.
Our talented chefs are always coming up with new tasty and visually stunning wedding canapés, they are quite challenging and fiddly to work on but when we get it right they fly off the tray!
